AtlasULTRA ground control station - a breakthrough in the unmanned system market

Riga, February 25, 2025 — The ultra-bright 2000 nit screen, innovative hall effect thumbsticks with haptic feedback, all-day battery life, long-range radio with optional mobile connectivity, and support for easy integration with 3rd party software - all of this and much more packed into a compact and sturdy all-weather enclosure.

These are just some features of the AtlasULTRA - a revolutionary control platform for industrial and military applications. ATLAS is introducing the next-generation ground control station (GSC), with a sleek, sophisticated design and ergonomic grips, weighing in at just over 900 grams. At the same time, the technology under the hood makes AtlasULTRA the most advanced, comfortable, and attractive remote controller on the market today.

ERGONOMIC DESIGN

Dual drift-free hall effect joysticks and 10 fully user-customizable quick-access buttons give the pilot the convenience and confidence to execute complex missions in any environment, having immediate access to all functions at just a thumb's reach.

HAPTIC FEEDBACK

AtlasULTRA incorporates a patent-pending haptic feedback technology with dual independent haptic actuators to provide valuable feedback to the pilot regarding the vehicle or mission limits to improve reaction time and decision-making accuracy in crucial moments.

Ivan Tolchinsky, CEO of ATLAS, comments on the new AtlasULTRA ground control station:

"In situations requiring speed and accuracy, such as military or industrial inspection missions, the advanced design of AtlasULTRA gives operators the confidence they need to fulfill the goal. We have meticulously thought through and carefully designed every aspect of the AtlasULTRA, from the most apparent features like a high-readability screen and advanced in-house design communication radios, down to the tiniest details like haptic feedback and specialized grips, to make sure that for any pilot that flies our products, it feels as natural as using a phone."

OPERATE EVEN UNDER INTENSE SUNLIGHT

The impressive 7-inch, 2000-nit high-brightness screen with anti-glare coating ensures excellent visibility even in the brightest noon sunlight. A capacitive multi-touch sensor array with false-touch rejection guarantees a swift and precise input. At the same time, a full HD resolution display provides a vast screen real-estate for heads-up telemetry and excellent sharpness and visual acuity for on-screen map details. An additional OLED status display gives the operator at-a-glance information about the most critical operational parameters like battery charge and signal strength.

ROBUST AND RELIABLE IP-65 RATED CHASSIS

The screen of AtlasULTRA is also protected with scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass™ and boasts IP-65 waterproofing and dust protection, as well as an adaptive autonomous internal cooling and heating system that allows it to operate in temperature ranges from -20°C to +55°C; AtlasULTRA becomes truly indispensable in extreme operating conditions.

POWER UNDER THE HOOD

A flagship high-performance system-on-chip, with an advanced AI engine and optional 16GB of RAM, guarantees the processing power necessary for multiple concurrent video stream transcoding, mapping, deep mission analysis, point cloud processing, and other complicated tasks that previously were only possible post-flight, on high-end desktop computers.

VAST STORAGE CAPACITY

Operators can make good use of 256 GB of built-in high-speed storage, expandable up to 2TB with latest generation SDXC UHS memory cards for ease of rapid payload data export, while PIN-protected onboard data encryption and automated wipe functionality guarantees that captured data and telemetry are inaccessible even if the AtlasULTRA gets into the wrong hands.

3rd PARTY APPS AND PLUGINS

AtlasULTRA comes with an optional dual boot functionality that allows customers to run their own custom Android apps on the device. We also provide an SDK to allow our customers to integrate their own 3rd-party software by installing plugins, such as Nett Warrior. The GCS runs an optimized build of Linux and has full support for Android 14.

Being an ATAK (Android Team Awareness Kit) compliant device, AtlasULTRA allows for precision targeting, area intelligence, situational awareness, navigation, mission data sharing, and specific mission templates like Direct Action, Combat Advising, Law Enforcement, Protection Operations, etc.

WIRELESS NETWORKING

Go online to re-translate the video stream to the command centre thanks to the built-in 4G LTE/5G modem. Connect an external headset or walkie-talkie via Bluetooth. With a single tap, you can also create a local near-range hotspot for other devices to connect to access the video stream or mission data.

ULTIMATE RANGE

The AtlasULTRA houses an in-house developed radio module with frequency hopping and an extended frequency range. Advanced anti-jamming features like adaptive frequency hopping and rolling-key encryption ensure reliable connectivity to other Atlas vehicles. Control the UAV within a range of 10.5 km with a built-in antenna or even connect an external high-gain antenna via an SMA connector.

EXTENDED CONNECTIVITY

We have made sure that a wide range of accessories can be connected to the GCS via a built-in set of I/O ports - HDMI for 4k external displays, USB-C for charging or powering external devices, USB-A for legacy storage and combined SIM/SD tray for storage expansion and mobile network connectivity.

ALL-DAY BATTERY LIFE

AtlasULTRA has a built-in smart battery that lasts for up to 4 hours, even with high screen brightness and heavy processing workload, while adding the rear-mounted extended battery module extends this time to a total of 8 hours of service. On top of this, AtlasULTRA also offers full USB-C PD compatibility to ensure that a full charge takes only 55 minutes.

ENTIRE ECOSYSTEM IN ONE GROUND STATION

AtlasULTRA was designed from the ground up to serve as a single GCS that rules them all - fly drones and fixed-wing aircraft, drive rovers, steer marine drones, and capture thermal imaging from sentry cameras. All from one screen, either on location or being located thousands of miles away. ATLAS opens a new era of unmanned vehicle operation.

Ivan Tolchinsky, CEO of ATLAS, added:

“With AtlasULTRA we aim to offer unprecedented quality and functionality for a truly ground-breaking entry price. With thoughtful choice of components and skilled engineering, we have been able to achieve excellent product quality, while dramatically reducing the cost and still using ITAR-FREE technology at a core. This is evident with AtlasULTRA being offered to customers at an extremely affordable price of 2499 Euros (w/o tax)”.
